Breed History

The Rich History of Olde English Pocket Beagles
The Olde English Pocket Beagle was originally bred in England. Hunters on horseback would carry the small beagle in the saddle bag on hunts. When the big dogs couldn't get through the thick brush, they would let the little pocket beagles down to flush out the animal. Breeders are working to reestablish this fine breed for everyone to enjoy.
